Help that stays current, and a newer model for generation

  • The Help page in the app now takes you to the full documentation on menuauthor.com, with a guide and screenshots for every feature that is kept up to date as things ship; feature requests and contact are still one click away from there
  • Menu generation from photos, PDFs, spreadsheets, and pasted text now runs on a newer generation AI model

Sign in with a link, not a password

  • Passwords are gone: type your email and we send you a secure sign-in link; one click and you are in, whether you are signing up or coming back
  • Signing up now asks only for your name and email, and there is no separate verification step; clicking your sign-in link already proves the address is yours
  • Opened the link on a different device than the one you signed up on? You are asked to retype your email there as a safety check, then it works the same way
  • Sign in with Google is unchanged and still the fastest way in
  • Team invitations use the same link flow when you create an account or sign in to accept one
  • Changing your account email now sends a confirmation link to the new address and only applies once you click it, so a typo can never lock you out

A sweep of fixes, from billing to print

  • If you had canceled a subscription in the past and later subscribed again, the app could occasionally read the older one; your current plan is now always the one shown and the one that plan changes apply to
  • Print order refunds are recorded more accurately: a partial refund no longer shows the order as fully refunded, and refund updates no longer go missing
  • Spreadsheet imports fixed: .xlsx cells with special formatting no longer come through empty, and old .xls files get a clear message asking for .xlsx instead of a failed generation
  • Menus that mix page sizes now export with every page at its correct size
  • PDF and image exports recover on their own after a rare rendering hiccup, and an export that gets stuck now stops with a clear error instead of spinning forever
  • Printed and exported output matches the editor even more closely, down to menu title styling and the dash in opening hours
  • Print-only elements no longer appear in the behind-the-scenes summary that search engines read from your published menu
  • Following a link into the app now lands you on the exact page it pointed to after you sign in, including any filters in the link, even if you pass through account selection on the way
  • Locked dishes stay locked: the photo inside one no longer shows move or resize handles, and duplicating while a dish's photo is selected duplicates the whole dish
  • Editing an AI suggestion no longer changes your menu until you accept it, and a suggestion edited down to nothing can no longer be accepted
  • Automatic layout updates no longer reveal hidden elements or mis-measure customized description text
  • Accepting a team invitation right after creating your account now completes reliably
  • A menu generation on its final attempt is no longer cut short while it is still working
  • If a menu was open in the editor while its public address was moved to another menu, saving from that tab can no longer quietly undo the move; it now warns about the conflict instead

Translation review that keeps up with you

  • Review translations in bulk: select rows, or all of them at once, and approve everything in one click
  • Filter chips narrow the review list to just untranslated, unreviewed, or approved lines
  • Approve a line and jump straight to the next one with Ctrl+Enter (Cmd+Enter on a Mac)
  • Translations that run much longer than the original are flagged as overflow risks, and you can open the live menu in that language straight from review to check
  • Translations now follow the dish text itself, so rearranging pages or republishing a menu no longer loses approved translations
  • TV displays no longer show the language switcher, keeping the screen distraction free
  • Published menus read better on phones: tighter page margins and long item names wrap instead of being cut off
  • Fixed header lines overlapping into a single row on published menus
  • If your role on an account changes, the app now picks it up right away, so admin links disappear without a refresh

Add pages with AI, straight from the editor

  • The add page button in the editor now offers a choice: a blank page, or pages generated with AI from photos, a PDF, a spreadsheet, or pasted text, just like the menu wizard
  • Generation runs in the background while you keep editing, with a progress chip and a cancel button; new pages are added at the end of the menu in its current theme and page size, and a single undo removes them
  • Allergen suggestions can be switched on for AI generated pages, same as in the wizard
  • Restoring an earlier version from history no longer shows a false warning about edits made somewhere else
  • Closing the browser tab now reliably hands the menu back to other editors, and taking over editing from a colleague continues in place instead of returning you to the menus table
  • Theme dialog fixes: the grid now fits on short windows, and the buttons on a theme card no longer apply the theme by accident
  • Print fixes for translated menus: tall scripts such as Thai no longer clip, and long translated descriptions trim cleanly at whole lines instead of overlapping the next item
  • Frame backgrounds now render at the same width on your published web menu as in print and exports, and switching a background to a frame starts from a sensible thickness
  • Fixed a rare issue where a save could put a menu in a state that refused further saves

Easier cleanup of images and history

  • Deleting an image that only older menu versions still use now offers a clear choice to remove it anyway, instead of a refusal
  • A new clear history button in the version history dialog removes all of a menu's saved revisions at once
  • Images used only by the last published copy of a menu that has since been unpublished no longer block deletion

Move a menu's address without reprinting

  • Built a brand new menu to replace an old one? Move the old menu's public address onto it from the share dialog: printed QR codes, website embeds, and TV displays all start showing the new menu, with nothing reprinted
  • The two menus swap addresses, so the old menu stays online at the other address and no link goes dead
  • Only a published menu can take over an address, so a printed code never lands on an empty page
  • QR codes placed inside the menus themselves update to the new addresses automatically
  • A new share button in the menus table opens the share dialog without opening the editor
  • Croatian joins menu translations, bringing the total to 27 languages

Allergen declarations on every dish

  • Mark any dish with the 14 EU allergens (gluten, milk, nuts, celery, and the rest); they appear as small labeled chips next to the dish in the editor, on your published menu, and in print
  • Allergen chips are outlined and neutral, so legal declarations stay visually distinct from your colored dietary tags
  • The first allergen you mark adds a legend that spells out each code in full; it is a normal element you can move, restyle, or delete, and its codes stay in sync with your dishes on their own
  • A legend can cover the whole menu or just its own page, so a multi page menu can carry a single legend on the final page
  • Translated menus translate the legend automatically, so guests see the official allergen names in their own language on the web and in exports
  • Menu generation gains an optional allergen suggestion setting: turn it on and AI captures allergens stated in your source menu and flags ones implied by a dish's ingredients, always for you to verify; it stays off unless you choose it
  • CSV imports accept an allergens column, matching codes, short labels, or English names
  • Preview any image in your asset library in a full size lightbox
  • The menus table now uses compact icon actions with tooltips, and draft menus can be published straight from the table

Your menu, in your guests' language

  • Translate a menu into 26 languages: AI drafts every line, and you review, edit, and approve each one before it goes live
  • Diners switch languages from a flag bar on your published menu, and every language gets its own link
  • Only translations you approve are shown to guests; everything else falls back to your original wording, so a language can go live before it is finished
  • Change a dish later and its translations are flagged for a fresh look instead of quietly going out of date
  • Pick a language in the share dialog and the menu link, QR code downloads, social posts, website embed, and TV display all follow
  • PDF and image exports can be produced in any language you have added
  • Duplicating a menu carries its translations along
  • Search engines are told about every language version of your menu, so each one can be found in the right locale
  • Menu translations are included on paid plans at no extra cost

Smoother generation, safer publishing, easier sign-up

  • Menu generation now tells you how long it usually takes and shows elapsed time while you wait
  • If generation hits a temporary snag it retries in place; if it times out, you get clear options instead of a spinner
  • You can leave the generation screen and come back, and we warn you before you navigate away mid-generation
  • Creating your first restaurant now takes you straight into the menu wizard, with a getting started checklist along the way
  • The editor shows save status as you work, and Cmd+S (or Ctrl+S) saves on demand
  • Publishing now asks for confirmation before your menu goes live, and Staff accounts can publish and unpublish menus
  • A hints card in the editor helps you find your way around on your first visit
  • Trying to share a menu that is not published yet now prompts you to publish it first, and the share button stays visible on smaller screens
  • Clearer restaurant forms: name conflicts are flagged on the field, saving shows a pending state, and copy is easier to follow
  • Sign-up polish: friendlier form error messages, a clear notice if the security check fails to load, and a short cooldown on resending the verification email
  • Email verification links now land on the login page with a note confirming your address is verified
  • If you are already signed in, the sign-up page takes you straight to your account, and you can sign out from the account selection and creation screens
  • Arrange, align, and distribute buttons in the editor now show proper tooltips, and a panel alignment glitch is fixed
  • The custom dietary tag form now explains the badge shown on your menu versus its full label, and emoji work in badges
