Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Menu Author (the "Service"), provided by Menu Author ("we," "us," or "our"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

1. The service

Menu Author lets restaurants design, publish, and analyze digital and print menus. The features available to you depend on your subscription tier.

2. Accounts

You must provide accurate information when creating an account, keep your credentials confidential, and notify us promptly of any unauthorized use. You are responsible for activity that occurs under your account, including invitations you issue to teammates.

3. Subscriptions, billing, and refunds

Paid subscriptions (Professional, Ultimate, Enterprise) are billed monthly or annually through Stripe. Subscriptions renew automatically until canceled. You may cancel from the in app billing portal; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Fees already paid are non-refundable except where required by law.

4. Free tier

Anyone can create a free tier account without a credit card. Free tier accounts retain access to a limited feature set indefinitely. Upgrading to a paid tier requires adding a payment method; we do not offer free trials of paid tiers.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to: (a) upload content you don't have the right to publish; (b) attempt to reverse-engineer the Service or interfere with its operation; (c) use the Service to send spam or phishing material; (d) upload malware or content that violates applicable law.

6. Your content

You retain ownership of menu content you upload or create. You grant us a limited license to host, transmit, and display that content as needed to operate the Service (for example, to render your published menu and serve it through our CDN). We do not use your content to train AI models for anyone other than you.

7. AI generation

The AI menu generator transforms your input (PDF, photo, or text) into structured menu content using third party language models. Output may be inaccurate; you are responsible for reviewing it before publishing.

8. Privacy

Our handling of personal data is described in the Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms.

9. Termination

You may close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that put the Service or other users at risk. We will give reasonable notice except in cases of urgent risk.

10. Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, to the maximum extent permitted by law.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability for any claim arising out of these Terms or the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced by email and posted here with a new "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
