QR menu generator.
Paste any link, pick your colors, and download a QR code as a crisp SVG or a high resolution PNG. Everything happens in your browser; the link never leaves your device.
These colors are too close for reliable scanning. Aim for a contrast of at least 3:1.
That link is too long to encode. Shorten it and try again.
Making a code that actually scans
Most QR problems are print problems. Three rules cover nearly all of them:
- Keep the quiet zone. The empty border around the code is part of the code. Do not crop it or print artwork over it.
- Print it big enough. Two centimeters per side is a safe floor for a table tent; go larger for posters and windows.
- Keep the contrast high. A dark code on a light background scans best. The generator warns you when your colors get risky.
And always scan a test print with a couple of different phones before you send anything to the print shop.
A code is only half the job
The QR code is the doorway; what matters is the menu behind it. If the code opens a squished PDF, guests pinch, squint, and give up. Menu Author publishes a real web menu for your QR code that reads well on every phone and updates without reprinting anything. Read how to make a QR code menu for the full walkthrough.
Questions, answered
- Is this QR menu generator free?
- Yes. It runs entirely in your browser with no signup and no watermark, and you can download the code as SVG or PNG as many times as you like.
- Can I make a QR code for a PDF menu?
- Yes. Paste a link to the PDF and the code will open it. Keep in mind that PDFs are hard to read on phones; a mobile friendly web menu, like the ones Menu Author publishes, is a better landing spot for the same code.
- Do the QR codes expire?
- No. The code encodes your link permanently and there is nothing to renew. It only breaks if the page behind the link moves, which is why it pays to point it at a stable menu URL.
- What should a menu QR code link to?
- A page that loads fast and reads well on a phone. If you publish with Menu Author, the code points at your live menu page, so the same printed code always shows your latest prices.
