Plans and the free trial

Menu Author is built to grow with you, from a single menu on the Free plan to a group of restaurants on Ultimate or Enterprise. This page covers the four plans, what your free trial includes, what happens once it ends, and how billing itself works.

Menu Author has four plans: Free, Professional, Ultimate, and Enterprise. Free covers you if you only need to publish a single menu. Professional and Ultimate add more restaurants, menus, team members, and features as you grow. Enterprise is managed with a custom contract, built for larger teams with needs beyond the standard plans. Current pricing, and exactly what each plan includes, live on the pricing page, since plans and pricing can change over time.

There is also Professional + Website: Professional plus a restaurant website that Menu Author builds and hosts for you. You buy it from Settings, Subscription. See Your restaurant website.

Every new account starts on a free, 14 day trial of the Professional plan. No credit card is required to start it, so you can explore everything Professional includes before you decide whether to pay for it. The trial does not include a website. To get one, choose Professional + Website.

If your trial ends and you have not subscribed to a paid plan, your account drops to the Free plan. One menu stays editable, so you always have somewhere to keep working, and the rest of your menus become read-only until you subscribe again. See Plan limits and locked menus for how locked menus work and how to unlock them.

You can pay for a paid plan monthly or annually. Paying annually costs less over the course of a year than paying month to month. You can switch between monthly and annual billing from your billing settings whenever it suits you.

If you are in the EU, Menu Author shows and charges you in EUR instead of USD, so your invoices match your local currency automatically. For exact current pricing in your currency, see the pricing page.

Enterprise: managed, with a custom contract

Section titled “Enterprise: managed, with a custom contract”

Enterprise is not something you sign up for online on your own. It is managed with a custom contract built around your restaurants and your team, so pricing and limits get worked out directly with Menu Author rather than picked off a shelf. Contact us to talk about what your team needs.

  1. Compare the Free, Professional, Ultimate, and Enterprise plans on the pricing page.
  2. Start your account on the 14 day Professional trial, no credit card needed.
